Pikmin 4

Lead tiny creatures on a big adventure!

Meet Pikmin: small, plantlike creatures with distinct abilities that you can grow, pluck, guide, and battle enemies with! Use your Pikmin's miniature might to explore this mysterious planet in search of your crew—and lots of treasure!

Meet the Pikmin

A mysterious mix of plant and animal, these creatures are loyal, clever, and ready to follow your lead. Try to call forward the right ones for the job!

Who’s a good Oatchi? Oh, yes you are!

Resident good boy and dependable partner Oatchi can help get the job done throughout your adventure. You can even train this Rescue Pup to become more helpful.

With the Pikmin and a powerful pup at your side, no challenge is too big!

Lead your loyal and curious squad

To succeed, you’ll have to balance caring for the Pikmin with leading them into dangerous situations. Try to do your best out there!

Two Red Pikmin, a Yellow Pikmin, a Blue Pikmin, and a Winged Pikmin move in a line. The Red Pikmin towards the back of the line has tripped forward onto their face.

Grow

Pikmin grow from pellets and wildlife that you can bring to your ship. If you pluck them from the ground, they’ll join you. Go team!

An Explorer leads their squad of Pikmin and Oatchi in the field.

Guide

You can lead your squad through big, explorable areas to find treasures, discover new paths, and battle enemies of all sizes. You can also instruct your Pikmin to carry stuff that might be helpful back to your ship.

An Explorer directs five Pikmin to carry a big red object.

Gather

When their task is done, the Pikmin will wait there for you. Get close and blow your whistle to bring them back to your squad. There’s always something else to do!

The Rescue Pup named Oatchi is strong enough to carry a squad of Pikmin and an Explorer on his back.

The Rescue Corps needs you!

You can customize your own explorer and lead the charge each day to find your crew and fix the Rescue Corps ship, the S.S. Shepherd.

An Explorer leads Oatchi and the Pikmin across what looks like a kitchen countertop.

    Explore the world

You can lead Oatchi and your squad of Pikmin through some pretty BIG places on your mission to rescue your crew. There are some mysterious caves and other challenges to take on, too.

An Explorer instructs the Pikmin to carry what looks like a Game Boy Advance SP system.

    So. Much. Treasure!

Treasures are a great source of Sparklium, the mysterious element that powers the S.S. Shepherd. You can also collect materials that you can use to construct things like bridges. You can even build new equipment back at your base that might make your mission a little easier!

Tricks of the trade

Every in-game day brings different adventures, but there’s only so much you can do before you must return to the safety of your ship. Remember: If you can’t get everything done that you wanted, there’s always tomorrow.

  • Oatchi gives the Explorer and Pikmin a ride on his back across water.

    Open up new paths

There are all sorts of paths to discover in each area during the day. You can get more done (and faster) if you use the right Pikmin to clear the space!

  • An Explorer leads Oatchi and the Glow Pikmin in battle against a creepy Bulborb with glowing red eyes. The Bulborb is attacking a lit-up mud-like structure called a Lumiknoll.

    Night missions

If you head out after dark, you and the Glow Pikmin will be tasked with fighting off crazed creatures. Try not to let the creatures break too much!

  • The Rewind Time menu includes details like a progress percentage, a list of discoveries, and number of Pikmin available at the time. The current state and a previous state are shown side by side for easy comparison.

    Rewind and retry

Something go sideways? No worries! You can give yourself a do-over with the new Rewind Time feature and try a different approach.

In your expedition, you'll come across Dandori Battles and Challenges. These challenges ask you to use your time wisely and efficiently to collect the most items before time runs out!
